I have been wanting to dye my hair for a long time now as I was getting bored of my original hair colour which was a light brown with blonde highlights, however they were natural highlights from the sun as I have never dyed my hair before. I was in sainsburys with my mum when I noticed that the
Garnier olia hair dye was on offer for under £5, I was intrested in this offer as my hairs extremely damaged because I straighten if a lot and I had heard brilliant reviews about the Garnier olia hair dye because it's and oil based hair dye which moisturises the hair, so doesn't damage the hair as much, it's also ammonia free so it doesn't have an ammonia smell, it's has more of a fragrant scent. I decided to buy one box of the hair dye in the colour
4.15 - iced chocolate however when I got home I watched and read reviews of the Garnier olia hair dye online and realised that maybe one box of hair dye wouldn't be able to saturate my whole hair as my hair is considerably long and very thick, however I didn't have time to go out and buy another box, so decided to just go ahead and use the one box. I had to carry out an allergy test 48 hours before I put the dye on my hair to make sure that I wasn't allergic to the dye, There were instructions within the box that told me how to do this, they instructed that I put a small amount of the colorant cream behind my ear and left it for 48 hours, if I felt any itchiness or noticed any swelling or redness I mustn't put the hair dye on my hair! fourtunatly, I wasn't allergic to the dye so it meant I could go ahead with the process... my mum kindly agreed to help me with dying my hair as I was to nervous to do it myself! After mixing the developer and colorant cream together in the olia container it was ready to use, We were both pretty sceptbale about having enough dye to cover my whole hair although my mum did a very good job! After waiting 20 minutes for the hair dye to develop (30 minutes was recommended however as it was the first time I had dyed my hair I didn't want to keep it on for the full time just incase because my skins very sensitive) I washed it off until the water ran clear and then used the conditioner that came in the box, I was extremely happy with the final result, as because I only used one box it meant that some of my original colour hadn't been coloured by the dye, which personally I prefer as I think it gives more dimension and tone to my hair colour, so the colour of my hair now isn't just one solid colour it has highlights and lowlights as well. The colour was very true to the colour on the box and my hair was left feeling very soft and looking very healthy.

I hope this post helped you if your considering dying your hair, I would strongly reccomend the Garnier olia hair colour as it was very easy to use and the final result was very true to the colour on the box, thank you for reading :)
Hi,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your review! Just wondering whether this box dye dried out or damaged your hair? My hair is long like yours and I'm worried that it will dry my hair out as I've read heaps of reviews saying hair is straw like after ?
Thanks :)
