Dying my hair // light brown to a darker brown

I have been wanting to dye my hair for a long time now as I was getting bored of my original hair colour which was a light brown with blonde highlights, however they were natural highlights from the sun as I have never dyed my hair before. I was in sainsburys with my mum when I noticed that the Garnier olia hair dye was on offer for under £5, I was intrested in this offer as my hairs extremely damaged because I straighten if a lot and I had heard brilliant reviews about the Garnier olia hair dye because it's and oil based hair dye which moisturises the hair, so doesn't damage the hair as much, it's also ammonia free so it doesn't have an ammonia smell, it's has more of a fragrant scent. I decided to buy one box of the hair dye in the colour 4.15 - iced chocolate however when I got home I watched and read reviews of the Garnier olia hair dye online and realised that maybe one box of hair dye wouldn't be able to saturate my whole hair as my hair is considerably long and very thick, however I didn't have time to go out and buy another box, so decided to just go ahead and use the one box. I had to carry out an allergy test 48 hours before I put the dye on my hair to make sure that I wasn't allergic to the dye, There were instructions within the box that told me how to do this, they instructed that I put a small amount of the colorant cream behind my ear and left it for 48 hours, if I felt any itchiness or noticed any swelling or redness I mustn't put the hair dye on my hair! fourtunatly, I wasn't allergic to the dye so it meant I could go ahead with the process... my mum kindly agreed to help me with dying my hair as I was to nervous to do it myself! After mixing the developer and colorant cream together in the olia container it was ready to use, We were both pretty sceptbale about having enough dye to cover my whole hair although my mum did a very good job! After waiting 20 minutes for the hair dye to develop (30 minutes was recommended however as it was the first time I had dyed my hair I didn't want to keep it on for the full time just incase because my skins very sensitive) I washed it off until the water ran clear and then used the conditioner that came in the box, I was extremely happy with the final result, as because I only used one box it meant that some of my original colour hadn't been coloured by the dye, which personally I prefer as I think it gives more dimension and tone to my hair colour, so the colour of my hair now isn't just one solid colour it has highlights and lowlights as well. The colour was very true to the colour on the box and my hair was left feeling very soft and looking very healthy.

I hope this post helped you if your considering dying your hair, I would strongly reccomend the Garnier olia hair colour as it was very easy to use and the final result was very true to the colour on the box, thank you for reading :)

New years eve! // Outfit

Although I should have uploaded this post sooner as it is the 2nd of January today I still want to upload a post about the outfit I wore on Nye.

Dress: I was really happy to find this black velvet skater style dress in New look in the boxing day sales as It only cost me £5!

Shoes: (you cant see my shoes in the picture above however in the picture I posted below you can) I also got them in the boxing day sales in New look for £10!

Jewellery: I forgot to take close up shots of the necklace and earrings I wore and unfortunately I left them at my friends house and wanted to get this post up as soon as possible (its late anyway!) I brought the necklace and earrings both from Primark, the necklace was £3 and the earrings were £1! The necklace has gold triangles with smaller black triangles inside them on a thin gold chain, the earrings were just plain black with silver detailing around the edge.

I wore black tights with the dress as it was extremely cold so I wasn't prepared to not wear any tights!

I hope you don't mind this post being a little late... I hope you all had a fantastic New years eve and New years day, HAPPY NEW YEAR! And best wishes for 2014 :)

Boxing day // outfit

I'm aware that I'm a little late with uploading this post however I haven't found the time to upload recently, I apologise for this and will try my best to upload more posts and get up to date with my blog as I have many posts to upload!

My Mum took me out shopping before Christmas to buy an outfit as part of my Christmas present to wear on Christmas day or boxing day, which I was most grateful for. I wore this outfit on boxing day when we went over to my Nans to have another Christmas day along with my Dads side of the family as we spent Christmas day with my Mums side of the family, it was really nice to spend time with them and I received some lovely presents.

~ If I can find the links for the items I'm wearing I will list them ~

Denim dress : Although it does look like I'm wearing a skirt, its actually a denim dress which I found in USC on sale for £10.

Jumper: My mum actually brought me a burgundy cropped jumper from Topshop which was £36 pounds however I wore that on Christmas day and decided to wear a grey cropped jumper which my nan brought me for Christmas from Asos over the denim dress on boxing day which was £25.
